Lisa B. Kaufman, Managing Partner

Lisa brings extensive experience in private equity, investment banking, and executive management to Northlight. She has advised on, or invested in, more than $15 billion in aggregate transaction value, specializing in consumer products, industrial products, medical equipment, technology and business services transactions. Previously, Lisa was Managing Director of Bank of America's Mergers and Acquisitions Group. She co-founded the group in 1989 and was responsible for leading exclusive sales, divestitures, private equity investments, recapitalizations and fairness opinions for privately-held and publicly-held companies with revenues from $100 million to $2 billion. In 1997, she was selected to act as Group Head of Acquisitions for Bank of America to lead the firm's proprietary transactions for the bank's private equity clients, including co-investing the bank's capital, initiating more than $2.5 billion in transactions in two years.

Prior to founding Northlight, Lisa was the Managing Partner of Broadgate, where she led middle market M&A transactions and direct investments in privately-held companies. Prior to Broadgate, she served as Executive Vice President of Clarity Communications, where she played a key role in growing the company to one of the largest independent broadband providers in the U.S. She was one of three executive team members responsible for defining and executing the business strategy, completing acquisitions and raising $125 million of growth capital. In 1988, Lisa co-founded Deloitte Haskins + Sells Chicago M&A group. She began her career as a consultant on cross-border transactions in Deloitte's London office.

Lisa attended the Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive Management Program and the University of Michigan School of Business, where she received a BBA in Marketing/Finance with Distinction. She is a frequently requested lecturer at Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, entrepreneurialism and consolidating industries. She currently serves on the board of directors of the Chicago Youth Programs, and NNI, Inc. She also serves on the Executive Advisory Board and the Investment Committee of Northlight Capital.
